PROSECUTION : NEW INITIATIVES

• Three Prosecution Coordination Units (PCUs) established at the Judicial Complex in Peshawar

• 27 Assistant Public Prosecutors trained at Pakistan Provincial Services Academy

• 53 Assistant Public Prosecutors recruited through Public Service Commission

• One month pre-service training of 24 Assistant Public Prosecutors (December – January 2014) completed at the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Judicial Academy

• Amendments in Shari Nizam-e-Adl Regulation 2009 being planned

• District formations computerized and linked to the directorate through the Prosecution Management Information System (PMIS) project

• Establishment of training institute for prosecutors being planned

• Amendments in Prosecution Act 2005 and rules made there under

• Construction of Directorate of Prosecution planned

• Nine fully furnished offices for District Prosecutors constructed

• Strengthening of monitoring and research cells in Prosecution Directorate initiated

• Overall conviction rate increased from 67.5% in 2012 to 72.0% in 2013 & 75% in 2014

• Conviction rate in Anti-terrorism courts increased from 5.0% in 2012 to 15.0% in 2013 & 20% in 2014
